At Northside, we love our staff! Here is a brief description of who leads our church!
After growing up in Ft. Lauderdale, Scott met his wife Marcie at college in North Carolina. And it’s been happily ever after since then! They’ve had a wonderful time enjoying how God has added to their family. Scott and Marcie have four children: Chloe, Kylie, Caleb, and Colin who have added much joy to their life.
Prior to serving at Northside, Scott has served churches in Florida, North Carolina, and Kentucky. While completing master’s and doctoral degrees, Scott served as the Director of Recruiting and Admissions at the flagship seminary of the Southern Baptist Convention, helping to lead expansion in the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral enrollments at that historic institution.
Training and experience have built a strong commitment to the local church into Scott’s heart and he is passionate about helping people discover the immense joy to be had in being a follower of Christ. Scott seeks to be a passionate communicator of God’s Word, to encourage people on to serious discipleship, and to foster a love for the Gospel that seeks to spread the name of Jesus both locally and internationally.
Reid is a native of Marietta, Georgia, located on the northwest side of Atlanta. He graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from The Robinson College of Business, and he graduated from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity in Christian Ministry from The School of Theology.
Reid is married to his beautiful wife Sarah, who is definitely his better half! They were married on 07/07/07. They have three kids, Liam (01/30/11), Levi (03/03/13), and Ava (02/02/15), and a dog, Lola Belle. Reid loves to hang out with family and friends, watch movies, play video games, and cheer for the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs.
Reid is also certain of these things: he is a great sinner but Christ is a great savior; he needs God way more than God needs him; and he exists to bring glory to God. Reid’s passion is for ministry, and he prays that God will use him in a mighty way to reach lost souls with the saving message of Jesus Christ.
Scott's passion for children and their lives began shortly after the birth and adoption of his oldest son, Phillip. It was then, the Lord allowed him to see the different melds of family it takes for a child to live in today’s world and many of them without salvation and the hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ. It is Scott's desire to see the children not only accept Christ as their savior, but also for them to have a solid base and deep roots in the Lord to rely on as teenagers and adults to carry them through life.
Scott has served in many children's ministry roles. From teaching Sunday School to Chairman of Board of an After School / Summer Program before becoming on staff at Northside in January 2011.
Scott is married to his wife of 26 years, Kelly, and they have two boys, Phillip and Sam. They live on an 8 acre farm in Chester.
Troy is originally from…..well all over. He was born in Iowa, lived in California for 7 years, moved to Anderson, SC (this is when his undying love for Clemson originated), moved to Columbia, SC, and then finally stopped here in lovely Rock Hill, SC.
Troy married his wife, Meghann, in 2006 and they have three beautiful children. Their oldest daughter is Ansley (07/09/08), they have one son, Isaac (01/25/12), and their youngest is Hannah "Wrynn" (08/07/14).
For as long as Troy can remember, he has always been interested in music. He is inspired by watching people praise God with all that they have, no inhibitions, no care of their surroundings; just an all-out worship to their Father and Savior. He feels that worship is the evidence of one realizing God’s greatness, and understanding the grace and mercy that was so sacrificially given to us through Jesus’ death on the cross. Through dying to ourselves daily and living in constant worship (not just on Sunday) of who He is, not just what He did, we constantly grow in the realization of His grace and that should only breed more worship. This is evidenced in how Troy leads others in worship. He considers himself to be extremely transparent; not only with life experiences, but also with how God is working in and through his life.
