our mission

The mission of Northside is to glorify God by being a disciple-making church.

It is our aim and desire to be completely devoted to carrying out what Jesus has explicitly commanded us to do. God has created us all for His glory (Isa. 43:7; Rev. 4:11) and the primary way we glorify God in the church is by carrying out Christ's final command to make disciples of all nations (Mt. 28:18-20).

what does it mean to be a "disciple-making church?"

The goal of disciple-making is not just about winning converts or filling people with information about the Bible. Biblical disciple-making is about reaching people with the gospel, helping them grow in Christlikeness, and equipping them to be personally engaged in the mission of making disciples for Jesus Christ.

Our desire in disciple-making is to see people's lives completely transformed by the power of the gospel.

what does disciple-making look like at northside?

  • church: gathering together as one family

Disciples grow in Christlikeness through the praying, singing, and preaching of God's Word in our weekly Sunday morning church gathering.

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God." - Colossians 3:16

  • classes: Growing in god's word

Disciples grow in Christlikeness through the faithful teaching of God's Word in our weekly discipleship classes, which are specifically designed to provide growth in one of the five marks of a disciple.

"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work." - II Timothy 3:16-17

  • community: groups that disciple one another

Disciples grow in Christlikeness within the context of biblical community — through the ministry of every  disciple caring for one another, praying for one another, and encouraging one another with God's Word.

"Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing." - I Thessalonians 5:11

  • core: gospel-driven serving & disciple-making

The gospel calls every disciple to be a disciple-maker. As disciples grow more connected in the church and deeper in their understanding of the gospel, they are driven to serve others and make disciples.

"Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making His appeal through us..." - II Corinthians 5:20
