The 2023 plan is ready! Some details are as follows:

  • It is a 5-day-per-week plan.
  • Each day incudes one New Testament chapter and at least one Old Testament chapter, though some days have more.
  • The highlighted chapter is the passage for the following week's midweek adult Bible Study
  • There is a short scripture memory passage for each month. You cannot truly be strong in the Word without memorizing it - you can do this!

H.E.A.R. JOURNALING

WHAT IS A "H.E.A.R." JOURNAL?

A H.E.A.R. Journal is a simple way to help you read and apply the Bible. This is important, because the Bible's purpose is transformation, not information.  By asking four simple questions, we can begin to understand and apply any passage of scripture to our lives. In addition, journaling is a great discipline, because it helps us retain more of what we read.

WHAT DOES "HEAR" STAND FOR?

The acronym H.E.A.R. stands for:

  • Highlight - what passage stood out to you?
  • Explain - why did this passage catch your attention?
  • Apply - what do you need to do with this passage?
  • Respond - how are you prayerfully seeking to obey the Word?

Each of these four steps contributes to creating an atmosphere to hear God speak through His Word.

HOW DO I JOURNAL?

Most people buy either a notepad or some other physical kind of journal or moleskine. Others use a Bible app on their phone that lets them highlight and record their notes. Use whichever suits you; just make sure to have some way to record your insights!
